My nice girlfriend, Lise, owned a Citroen Dyane which was totally original. We used to drive on tour with this beatyful car with soul. But she had to sell it because of all the reparations she had to cost. So we decided to buy a motorbike together. This was the spring in 1996.

But we had no idea of what type or standard we should choose. We had never been driving a motorcycle before. A good friend with 20 years of MC-experience told us that there was an XBR for sale which would suit us. And the bike (he told us) had a groomy sound and was a scoop for MC-entusiasts. So we had to take our friend to see because he had license to drive. We had to try it too; in a parkingplace with sandals and skirt and no experience. This seemed ok - we had nothing to compare to ! We bought it the next day and telephoned the drivingschool to book driving lessons. Then we had to run to the shop to buy one set with helmet, clouthes, gloves and shoes. We use the same size !

The summer of 1996 was a hard, working and very hot summer (the hottest summer in my life). We were sweating, crying, laughting and almost gave up the whole project. But in autumn 1996 we were the lucky owners of licenses and were on the road.

So we shared the MC and the clothes; one day each this year and were driving in all type of weather. In late autumn it was so cold that we had to stop halfway to work to blow in our gloves to get a bit warm. The next spring we shared clothes and bike one week each. There were never problems with this girl-friend-shearing-project except for one: it was differcult to travel on tour togehter. The XBR is a small bike and for 2 persons with luggage was not ideal. Lise did something with this problem; she bought a BMW Strada in spring 1999.

Now we were able to get touring together. We had lots of nice tours last year and also this year. This summer we`ll drive to Sweden and Denmark with XBR and BMW - looking forward to that.

We have started a girl club for happy MC-drivers; "Breast Bangers" (a site is under construction) - only 2 members yet; Lise is member no 001 and I no 002. As you can see from the numbers we have rooms for more members but there are very hard requirements to get a membership. One girl friend was almost a member but she quit drivinglessons and is now only a "hangaround".
